Earning money on the way vol.1

I have heard that some travelers supporting themselves with medical researches on the way. I mean being a paid hamster for some experiments :)
I thought, may be this is just a legend. But when made some research on the internet I saw there are lots of pages about this and even some research centers are telling...
"Participating as paid volunteer in Medical research studies can be an excellent way to help to pay educational costs, supplement your income while working, or fund your travels while spending time in foreign countries."

At the first time it sounds a bit scary. But not all of the researches are dangerous and drug related. As I understand they need people to spend some time at the hospital for a day or more, like being a patient of
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Time isolation
  • Bed rest studies - simulate the effects of prolonged space travel.
  • Alcohol, caffeine & nicotine studies
  • Exercise, diet & nutrition studies
  • Psychology studies (personality, perception, etc.)
  • Cognitive studies (memory, concentration, etc.)
  • Sensory studies - testing taste, smell, etc
  • Visual studies
  • Brain wave studies
  • Brain imaging studies
  • Blood & plasma donation
  • Egg & sperm donation
  • Consumer product testing - sample new products (food, cosmetics, etc.) and evaluate them.
  • Focus Groups - Evaluating products
  • Paid opinions - Get paid for your opinions.
Some of the topics makes you to think about it :) And you can earn between 100$ and 300$ per day.
Sooo, http://www.gpgp.net/ can help you to find the closest research center to you :)

By the way, I have been in a medical research a year ago :) A good friend of mine Monica was studying about brain waves and needed some monkeys for her researches. It was very simple just clicking to some buttons depending what you see on the screen. And after the test she gave me a free banana :D
If I meet some "hamster travelers" on the way, I promise you I ll do a interview to get some more information about this business! :)

Being Practical vol.1

Some of the extreme situations which I remember...

In cold and windy weathers a simple plastic poncho can save your health.
If you sit and cover it as a big plastic bag then it will stop the wind and make a green house effect, and ll not led the heat to go out. If you want to make more heat, take a breath from outside and give your breath into your little green house :)

It is good if you show up your head sometimes, cause you can look like a rubbish bag

The usual poor travelers equipment are made in China. If you buy the cheapest tent which are on sell at the super markets (in summer times) be sure that it is not waterproof! It is OK, you can camp with it but you have to chose nice corner which is not windy. Because in rainy days you have to put plastic bags on it to make your tent waterproof. Otherwise the wind ll blow your hand made cover!

Deep in the woods can never be windy

If you are sleeping outside or camping somewhere, keep your phone in the plastic bag cause in some places humidity level is very high in the evenings and it can destroy your electronic devices. I have lost my communication with the world for a week but luckily the phone started to work again when it get dry :)

This is my phone but I am tired from peoples look and questions. "Why are you not changing it?" Because I like it and it is working.

As you know, Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world. On my way to see the Fjords I had forgot to get a shampoo from home and didn't want to buy one for a decuple price in Norway!
But in Norway toilets are very luxury :) and even in tourist information offices the soap to wash your hands is Dove. The simple solution was to borrow some Dove to a plastic bottle :)
